Several colleagues have forwarded this particular article to me because I my interest in both women’s issues and social media. The link below takes you to a video made by a maxi-pad company in response to a male’s rant on Facebook. The satirical reply is resplendent with references to deeply ensconced cultural and gender-ed approaches to feminine hygiene. It also raises some interesting questions about advertising, social responsibility and the use of the social media in promoting a brand. Regardless of your reaction to either the Facebook rant or the company’s response; this is a great case study to consider for future study.
